Life Of Pi

pi_n
Life Of Pi hits theaters today. I had the great pleasure of working on it. In the matte section, I posted a painting of the village of Pondicherry in India. In the concept/narrative section, there’s a concept of one of the island Pi lands on. Life of Pi is a 2012 American action adventure drama film based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Yann Martel. The film is directed by Ang Lee, based on an adapted screenplay by David Magee, and stars Irrfan Khan, Gérard Depardieu, Tabu, Suraj Sharma, and Adil Hussain. Visual effects is by Rhythm & Hues Studios.

Argo

ARGO
I just finished 34 paintings for the movie Argo, VFX by Method LA. As the Iranian revolution reaches a boiling point, a CIA 'exfiltration' specialist concocts a risky plan to free six Americans who have found shelter at the home of the Canadian ambassador. That cast includes Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, and terrific character actors like Richard Kind and Philip Baker Hall.

Chronicle

Chronicle1
I added a clip from Chronicle under the "reels" section. The entire building had to be replaced and a hole had to be painted in it. This shot had a lot of movement (handheld and zoom) and had to be painted at a very high resolution. Chronicle: Three high school friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides. Directed by Joshua Trank.

American Cinematographer

One of my concepts for the movie Big Miracle with Drew Barrymore was featured in the last issue of American Cinematographer. You can check it under concept art/ Narrative.
